If results show abnormal blood pressure or significant ECG issues (e.g., pronounced bradycardia), a cardiac ultrasound is also required. ECG and cardiac ultrasound are not interchangeable.

5. Registration Methods for Mass Participants
5.1 The marathon is limited to 27,000 participants, and the half-marathon is limited to 8,000 participants. If the number of registrants for any category exceeds the registration limit, entry will be determined through a lottery system with a waiting list mechanism.
5.2 Registration channels: mass participants can register via the official Wuxi Marathon website, HuiPao Events WeChat public account, "Race Assistant" WeChat mini-program, “Digital Heartbeat” App (Chinese sports/health app “Shuzi Xindong”).
5.3 Registration process: Visit the official website or program → click “Register” → answer race-related questions (safety reminders and city promotion) → read and agree to the “Race Declaration,” “Health Commitment,” “Civilized Participation Statement,” and “Anti-Doping Knowledge and Medication Safety Reminder” → complete the registration steps → lottery → pay registration fee → obtain participation quota or waiting list status.
5.4 Lottery method: The marathon event is divided into four lottery segments, A, B, C and D. 20% of total quota is allocated to segment A, 30% to segment B, 45% to segment C, and 5% to segment D. All applicants for the marathon category will be placed into the corresponding lottery segment based on their marathon results from A1-certified races listed on the “China Marathon” website, with race dates between December 16, 2023, and December 15, 2025. Age groups are determined by subtracting the year of birth from 2026.

The Organizing Committee will open the lottery segment inquiry function before the announcement of the lottery results and will provide an appeal channel. Registered participants may submit an appeal within two calendar days by uploading their race certificate from any A1-level race, World Athletics Label race, or AIMS-certified race held between December 16, 2023, and December 15, 2025.
The Half Marathon will adopt a unified lottery without segmentation.
The lottery results will be announced on January 5, 2026. Both the successful applicants and the waiting-list numbers for unsuccessful applicants will be drawn at one time. Participants can log in to the official race website to view the results as soon as they are released.
5.5 Successful applicants must pay the registration fee before 17:00 on January 10, 2026; otherwise, they will be deemed to have voluntarily forfeited their qualification. The forfeited slot will be released after 10:00 on January 11, 2026, to the next applicant on the waiting list within the same lottery segment.
5.6 Unsuccessful applicants on the waiting list must also pay the registration fee before 17:00 on January 10, 2026; failure to do so will be regarded as a voluntary forfeiture of the waiting list opportunity, and their waiting list number will not be retained.
5.7 Waiting List and Withdrawal:
5.7.1 Waiting List Mechanism:
Participants who have secured a spot but cannot attend may withdraw according to the race’s refund policy by submitting a withdrawal request on the official website. When a participant withdraws, their spot will be filled by the next waiting list participant with the highest priority from the same lottery segment.
5.7.2 Refund Policy:
Participants can initiate refund requests by clicking the “Withdraw Registration” button on their registration details page. Withdrawals on or before February 2, 2026, will receive a full refund of the registration fee. Withdrawals from February 2 to February 27, 2026, will receive an 80% refund. Refunds will be processed within one week of receiving the withdrawal request. Withdrawals are not allowed after February 27, 2026.
Participants not admitted from the waiting list by February 2, 2026, will receive a refund within one week.
In the event of race postponement or cancellation, the organizing committee will open a full refund period for all participants, and the refund timeline for waiting list participants will be extended accordingly based on the new race date.
